Gin Case

Open countryside surrounds Gin Case, a two-bedroom cottage on a working farm in Dumfries and Galloway. From the balcony you can see across fields to the Moffat hills—the sort of views that pull you outside with coffee in the morning and a glass in the evening. The location puts Ae Forest mountain biking trails within reach, and the gentler walks along the River Ae are equally close. The Solway coast, with its small villages and beaches, lies less than an hour away.

Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds (configure as doubles or twins as you prefer), and there is one bathroom with a bath and shower. Downstairs holds a washing machine and space to hang wet gear. The main living area—sitting room, dining space and kitchen—occupies the first floor, opening onto the balcony through patio doors. You can cook proper meals here, with an electric oven and hob, or grab something quick with the microwave. Freeview television, Wi-Fi, parking for two cars, bed linen and towels are all included; heating runs on LPG. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

The cottage is peaceful but not remote. Dumfries is nearby for supplies and services. No smoking indoors.
