The Orangerie is a one-bedroom barn conversion on a single level, sleeping two people with exclusive use of the entire property. Everything happens on the ground floor: a living and dining space with woodburner, a kitchen equipped for full self-catering, a double bedroom, and a walk-in shower room. Essentials including bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are provided, along with logs for the stove.
Outside, an enclosed decked area overlooks the Galloway Hills and houses a private hot tub. The owner has filled the interior with immersive paintings, and the surrounding landscape draws regular sightings of red kites, sparrowhawks and other birds of prey, alongside red squirrels and deer. Glentrool Forest is nearby, as is the Southern Upland Way; the property sits within Galloway Forest Park, designated as one of the world's few Dark Skies Parks. A pub and restaurant are a mile and a half away; shops eight miles. The property suits adults only, with three steps up to the decked area.

We had an amazing stay at The Orangerie! Our hosts Vincent and Ruby supported our late check in - we arrived just after 11pm. We had of course prearranged this. Vincent took us around the house showing us where everything was located to enable us to acclimatise. He is such a charming character as is Ruby! The property is very well appointed, deceptively spacious in that you only think the house to be a rectangular space you get to the opposite end and find yet more space as the house is L shaped! The house comes with a bar - for you to stock, audio system, TV’s and a karaoke machine! They also have a log burner which is amazing!! Finally, the HOT TUB, oh yes!! Awesome!! Vincent and Ruby keep the property very clean and also provided toiletries, robes, slippers and treats! More on our hosts, they’d have happily left us to our own devices. We’re a chatty couple and spent much time speaking to them both about the area and places to see. They made us feel very welcome and really added to our relaxing stay. We’d have no hesitation in recommending this lovely holiday home and we do look forward to staying again. We arrived as guests and left with 2 new friends. Thank you both!!

Stayed from 30th July to 6th August. Arrived to be greeted by Vincent, friendly and extremely helpful. Showed us around Orangerie. Absolutely spotless and everything we needed for a relaxing week. Complimentary products were a lovely touch too. He also gave us good advice on places to visit. Hot tub is fantastic as is the whole experience. Would highly recommend to any couples looking to chill out and relax. Well done all 10/10

Just spent an absolutely fabulous weekend away at this newly revamped little gem. Wonderfully spacious, super comfortable and spotlessly clean and the jacuzzi was just amazing. Couldnt ask for more for that perfect little getaway. The hosts Victor & Ruby gave us the warmest of welcomes. A really friendly genuine couple which showed in all the little details they had taken care of for our stay to be just perfect. Can't praise them and the whole experience enough. Highly recommend and will most definitely be returning again and again and again....

This is the most wonderful relaxing break we have ever had. First visit 2 years ago on our 'mini moon' after or wedding. Now it is our favourite place to visit. Ruby and Vincent you are amazing hosts, from the warm welcome on arrival to a lovely send off when we leave. The Orangerie feels like home, it's warm, relaxing, private, and the ideal place to relax. It is surrounded by the most beautiful outdoor woods and forrestry for walks or picnics. Will see you soon for our next visit. Thank you. ♥️♥️
