What visitors say
I visited Broughty Castle Museum today and really enjoyed my time there. It was a lovely surprise to find such an interesting historic place in such a beautiful location. The castle sits right beside the River Tay, and the views from around the castle are absolutely stunning, especially when you take a moment to look out over the water. Inside, I enjoyed learning about the history of Broughty Ferry and the people who lived and worked in the area. The museum has a nice variety of displays covering local life, fishing, wildlife, and the history of the castle itself. I liked that it was not overwhelming , you could take your time walking around, reading the information, and really appreciate the stories behind each exhibit. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, making it a lovely place to visit whether you are interested in history or simply looking for somewhere different to explore. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I also appreciated how well the castle has been looked after and how much character it still has. It feels like a place where you can step back in time while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A great little gem to visit in Broughty Ferry. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area, and I would happily come back again. "Another bonus was that there is free parking available near the castle, making it very convenient to visit without worrying about extra costs.

Fantastic little museum located inside the old castle. Local history and natural history are on display inside, and it's free to enter. The young lady on reception was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Plenty of free car parking close by too.
