Lookout Lodge at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Had a wonderful time at Lookout Lodge. It was my wife's 60th birthday treat - my sister also rented a lodge and joined us. Access was very straightforward and all the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The experience is well thought-out. An hour before and after dinner - seeing about 3 different sets of animals each hour - timed so they'd be awake / active / eating. In the morning another hour after breakfast The food was great (dinner and breakfast) and the bed was comfy - slept well (animal noises weren't a problem) Only tip - despite being warm during the day it was chilly at night (early April) so suggest taking something warm to throw on. Thanks to Lauren, Laura , Hannah, Lucy, and Jo who took good care of us.

Had been planning this trip for a while as a birthday present. Was a fantastic experience with lots to keep you busy for the duration of the stay. The staff really made this what it was, very knowledgeable and friendly, happy to answer any questions and give us the facts you didn't know about. The lodges themselves were pretty basic, but comfortable for what you needed for one night. The only disappointing thing about the lodge was they only had plastic cups and takeaway cups for tea/coffee, would have felt nicer with real glass. The tours really made the experience something completely different. The food was good but nothing special, it did what it needed to do. Would highly recommend to gain an experience of a zoo when everyone else has gone home.

Lookout lodges at Whipsnade zoo. Brilliant experience . The evening meal and breakfast were good . But without doubt , the highlight was the evening walks . The staff who took us round Hannah , Lucy were 1st class . Knowledgeable and engaging . Seeing some of the animals who are not really active in the day was great. Lodges are ok , cosy but 1 star removed as the matress is very hard for our taste which meant we didnt sleep very well.

Stayed here for my birthday had a lovely time, staff on the evening tours were fabulous. Really recommend would love to do it again soon.
