Rowan Muir

Rowan Muir spreads across a single level, which means no stairs to navigate. You arrive into a living room with a smart TV, then move through to a kitchen and dining space with electric cooking, a dishwasher and all the essentials for self-catering. There's a separate utility room with washing machine and freezer, plus a games room with a snooker table and darts board. Four bedrooms sleep eight: two with kingsize beds, two with pairs of singles. Two bathrooms include a shower cubicle and a wet room with shower seat and bath seat.

The cottage sits on a working farm in East Ayrshire, surrounded by the Ayrshire coast and countryside. The enclosed, lawned garden is private, with seating and a BBQ, and there's a hot tub for six in the grounds. Storage for bikes and canoes is on hand. One dog stays free, though dogs must be kept on a lead. Parking is available for three cars, and the property is wheelchair accessible. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included.

The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs nearby for walking, and the beaches, castles and country tracks of the region are close by. Culzean Castle and Dumfries House are within reach. Royal Troon golf course is five minutes away by car. Ayr, Prestwick and Troon are short drives, and Glasgow is accessible by rail. The nearest beach is three miles away; a pub is one and a half miles; shops are two and three-quarter miles distant.
