Wheatfield House stands on a working sheep farm along a quiet country lane, with views across open countryside towards the Island of Arran. The detached property sleeps nine across five bedrooms: two with zip-and-link super king beds that convert to singles, two with king beds, and one single room. Three bathrooms are distributed across the ground and first floors, so there is rarely a queue in the morning. The ground floor holds a living room with a 50-inch smart TV, a games room with a pool table and table football, and a kitchen with the essentials for self-catering—electric range, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. French doors open from the kitchen-dining area onto a lawned garden with furniture and a BBQ.
One dog stays free, though it must be kept on leads as the property sits within working farm land. Parking for six cars is available on site. Heating (including underfloor in most rooms), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The small village of Kilmaurs is within walking distance and has shops and a restaurant. The Ayrshire coast lies nearby with sandy beaches at Ayr, Prestwick and Troon, while Arran and Cumbrae are accessible by day trip. Inland, Culzean Castle, Dumfries House and the Galloway Forest Park are all within reach. The property does not permit smoking.
