Poppy is a first-floor apartment in a converted Victorian townhouse on the East Riding coast. It's a straightforward base for two people: one bedroom with a king-size bed, a shower room, and an open-plan living area with kitchen, dining space and a sofa. Everything you need for self-catering is here—electricity, heating, wi-fi and linen are included, and the kitchen has an electric oven, hob and microwave. One well-behaved pet can stay at no extra charge.

The location does the heavy lifting. Bridlington's working harbour and sandy beaches are a two-minute walk away, along with independent shops, cafés and restaurants scattered through the old town. The Heritage Coast at Flamborough and the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs are nearby for walking and birdwatching. Sewerby Hall, Burton Agnes Hall and the Yorkshire Wolds—the rolling landscape painted by David Hockney—are all within reach, as is York and Castle Howard an hour's drive inland. No smoking indoors. Parking is available nearby at a cost, and check-in is after 15:00.
