Quirky Cottage
East Riding of Yorkshire
This cottage's narrow footprint and three-storey layout give it genuine character, with sloping ceilings and a steep winding staircase that signal an older building with a story to tell. The ground floor houses a utility room with washing machine. Up to the first floor sits a small kitchen with gas cooking, microwave and slow cooker, opening into a living and dining room with wooden floors and a wood-burning stove. A further flight leads to the second bedroom, a double with limited headroom due to the roof line, while the bathroom—also tight on height—sits on this level. Downstairs, the twin-bedded room offers more conventional proportions. The cottage sleeps four and welcomes one small dog.
Beverley's town centre, with its cobbled streets, independent shops and cafés, is a few minutes' walk away, yet the cottage sits on a quiet lane that feels removed from the bustle. Parking is on-road about 20 yards off, with one permit provided; a public car park is a five-minute walk if needed. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, as is the initial fuel for the wood burner. No smoking throughout.
