Bridlington's sandy beach and harbour are nine miles away, while Scarborough and the North York Moors lie within a thirty-minute drive. York's minster and medieval streets are twenty-five miles south. Bempton RSPB reserve, Burton Agnes Hall and good fishing are all close by, and a shop, pub and restaurant are within a mile on foot.

Wold Cottage sleeps ten across five bedrooms. Downstairs there is a living room with television and dining room opening into a kitchen with breakfast area and full cooking equipment; a utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, four further bedrooms include one with an ensuite shower room, and a main bathroom serves the rest. Two bathrooms in total. Bed linen and towels are provided.

The cottage stands in two acres of shared grounds with an outdoor heated swimming pool (open Easter to October), a gas barbecue and covered seating areas. You have a private hot tub. A games room and snooker room with full-size table are available to guests. Ample parking is on site. The property is non-smoking.

Fantastic, we had a great weekend in the Wold Retreat. Met and welcomed by a very friendly member of the family. The accomodation is exceptionally clean, well laid out and equipped. We were totally amazed by what's on offer on site between the gardens and games rooms.

Fantastic week was had by all. Grandkids loved the heated pool and the kids games room. My sons enjoyed the adult only snooker room. The private hottub and bbq was great. The house had everything you could need. Heather the owner and Sam her daughter was so welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. It was very clean and all the beds were very comfy. It was great to open the door and see the cows with their calves in the field next to the house.

Just back from a week at this place with my family, 9 of us altogether, from ages 3 to 57! What a beautiful place this was to relax, everything you could want, something to keep us all occupied! Beautiful scenery all around, felt like you was in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful, but close enough to go to a shop or a beach. The grounds were beautifully kept, the house was gorgeous, everywhere was very clean and very comfortable. The owners are lovely, very welcoming and friendly, on hand should you need anything but they leave you alone to enjoy your holiday, although it was nice to see Heather and have a little chat as she is so lovely. Highly reccomend this place, and can't wait to go back!

Stayed for 5 days over October Half Term and thoroughly enjoyed it. The facilities are amazing which was great with the wet weather we had. The hosts are great. Friendly and welcoming without intruding. Fantastic place for large groups. They had also clearly redecorated recently as the house and outside rooms were immaculate. A beautiful place to stay.
