The Nissen Hut
East Suffolk
This converted Nissen hut stands as a characterful one-bedroom retreat in countryside East Suffolk, between Laxfield and Ubbeston. The entire space sits on one ground floor level, arranged around an open-plan living area with a wood burner, French doors opening onto a garden terrace, and views across the surrounding land. One bedroom holds a super king bed; the ensuite has a shower and heated towel rail. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and essentials like heating, electricity, wi-fi and bed linen are all included.
The terrace has seating and a shared gas barbecue for outdoor meals. Parking for two cars sits on the property. One dog travels free with you. Smoking is not permitted inside.
The east coast's character towns are within reach: Southwold and Aldeburgh both sit a short drive away, with independent shops, restaurants, a cinema and beach. Walberswick offers a beach and crabbing; Dunwich Museum tells the story of a medieval city lost to the sea. Minsmere Nature Reserve is nearby for walks, and Thorpeness has a boating lake dotted with islands named after Peter Pan characters. Framlingham Castle and Snape Maltings are also within reasonable distance.
