Bell Corner Cottage

East Suffolk

View on Google Maps

Bell Corner Cottage is an 18th-century detached property set back down a country lane on the edge of Halesworth. The cottage has open beams and inglenook fireplaces, retaining much of its original character. It sits within the owner's grounds, with an enclosed garden and lawned area where guests can relax. On-site parking and a bike store are available.

The accommodation comprises two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and a bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor. Downstairs, the living and dining rooms both have open fires, and the kitchen is equipped for self-catering with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. Bed linen and Wi-Fi are provided, along with initial logs for the fires. Oil central heating keeps the cottage warm. Note that the stairs to the first floor are steep and narrow.

The location suits couples and small families wanting access to both countryside and coast. Halesworth itself is three miles away; pubs and shops are within easy reach. The cottage is on the Heart of Suffolk cycle route and within 30 minutes' drive of Minsmere RSPB Reserve, Dunwich Heath, and the seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.

We had a fantastic stay at Bell Corner Cottage with our two young children. The cottage was clean, tidy, and well-suited for a family, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time away. The village itself is beautiful, with plenty of charm and a peaceful atmosphere. A lovely touch was the blue kids’ bedding, our sons absolutely loved it and it really helped them feel at home. The hosts were excellent, friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We’d definitely recommend it and would happily return in the future.

I have not stayed here, just delivered to it but it is located in the peaceful small village of Cratfield which has no shops.
