Honestly had the bestest time here. We arrived and were so excited and impressed with the site, its such a gem! We stayed in one of the shepherd's huts and loved the whole set up. The eco toilets are the best we have ever come across! The shepherd hut was cosy and warm, the outdoor kitchen was so lovely and perfect for outdoor dinners. We even had some of the chicken eggs fresh from that morning. We could get logs from the shop with a donation as well as tea and coffee! We also used one of the hot tubs using the logs for heat, and we have to say we might have been a bit too good at fire lighting as we had to wait for it to cool down before relaxing in it! Dan is an excellent host, loved seeing his family around the site and honey was the sweetest dog! If you are looking for a great site for family, for couple getaway, a bit of a relax and unwind away from busy day to day, I highly recommend getting a nature reset here. Watch sunsets, stargaze, build fires and cook dinners and have smores! Thank you so much, we will be back again!

Very basic campsite with pitches and a couple of shepherds huts (which we stayed in). We were only there for one night but it was nice and relaxing.

A Brilliant Back-to-Basics Escape with a fantastic Host We recently stayed at this wonderful back-to-basics campsite as a group of 40, and all had a brilliant time. If you’re looking for luxury, look elsewhere — but if you want fresh air and real experiences this is the place. Dan, the campsite manager, went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. He worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had a fantastic time. From making delicious wood-fired pizzas in his converted horse box to giving us a fun and informative pig farm tour, lighting the hot-tub and arranging for our group to do Archery and Axe throwing, he didn’t stop. The rustic charm of the site was as described— no hot water, basic facilities, a wide-open field, some peaceful woodland, and a delightful collection of animals to meet and feed. One family enjoyed a bit more comfort in the shepherd’s hut, complete with a real bed, hot tub and woodland kitchen. A highlight of our stay was the archery and axe-throwing session led by Andy, which Dan kindly arranged. It was a real hit with the group — fun, safe, and brilliantly run. We left muddy, happy and tired! Highly recommended for groups, families, or anyone wanting a break from the digital world and a chance to reconnect with nature (and each other).

Quite campsite with some free range chickens, rabbits and piglets for the kids. Two chemical toilets on the camping field with a washing up station. There is also composting toilets in the wood area and a hot shower which was beaut!!! Best going as a couple as the shower head is on a low down bracket so helpful to have someone else hold it while washing our shampoo etc. very friendly staff, they did offers basic breakfast baps tea coffee on a morning and evening there is pizza. Not sure how reliable this is tho as one morning it was an hour later than stated. Very relaxing atmosphere. Had everything we needed. Fire pit on an evening was perfect to keep us warm while our little one was asleep in the tent.
