Since our first stay at a West Beach just over two years ago, we have returned many times, sometimes as a couple and sometimes with with our grown up kids and grandkids. Rental vans and lodges are perfectly positioned with fantastic sea views - and a thirty second walk over the dunes leads to the lovely sandy beach. There is a super play park and good ice cream shop within 5 minute walk of the site, and the wider local area offers lots to do for all ages. The accommodation is immaculate and well appointed and we have always found the site staff to be friendly, helpful and accommodating. If you want a break from cooking, in addition to Bootleggers Bistro on the site itself (where we’ve had several nice meals), there are also lots of nice places for food in nearby Lossiemouth and Elgin, from cafes and restaurants to takeaways (our favourites and most frequented being Catch 79, Harbour Lights, The Humble Burger and Qismat). I wish the rental vans were available all year round, but we’ve just booked a last minute break before the season closes at the end of this month (….only 4 weeks since we returned from our last stay)! West Beach and the stunning Moray Coast really has become our “happy place”!

Not the cheapest, but absolutely belting. Only met staff on check in & passing hello, friendly folks. Mid September weekend stay, park empty. Bootleggers was open, food nice & reasonably priced. Bus into Elgin every hour , single £5.50. (Handy for distillery tour, really good value for money). Just off the main street in Hopeman (easily missed) ,, there is a pub "braemou inn" staff lovely, locals friendly, enjoyed a beer & decent chat discussing history of pub/shipping fleet & village. Spend a few £s here to keep the village pub going....the fire was much appreciated (didn't eat here, will do on next visit). 100% recommended the site & local shops, pub
