There's a proper farm-like feel here rather than manicured glamping gloss.
Facilities are basic but well-maintained: clean toilet and shower blocks, fresh water points, and not much else to complicate matters. It's the sort of place that works brilliantly if you're self-sufficient and looking for tranquility, though families expecting play areas or entertainment might find it too stripped-back. The surrounding lanes are ideal for cycling, and you're within striking distance of Sissinghurst Castle Garden and the Weald's rolling landscapes. Pitches start from around £25 a night.

What visitors say
Frittenden Orchard is our new favourite campsite! We've stayed at sites all over Europe, but we've never found one that offers as much space as this. It was also our first experience of off-grid caravanning (we have a twin-axle caravan), and it's completely opened our eyes to the benefits of a site like this. Diane is a wonderful host—so friendly and incredibly helpful. You can pitch wherever you like, and the amount of space available is amazing. We recommend bringing caravan blocks or levellers to get your setup just right (we use an auto-levelling system, but did see others having a bit of trouble)—though it's really not a big issue. There are two toilets, always spotless, plus a water point and the cleanest chemical waste disposal we've ever seen. Diane also sells beautiful garden plants and delicious eggs from her own chickens. We first visited during the early May bank holiday and have been back every weekend since. We're now planning to install our own off-grid system so we can stay even longer—and explore other off-grid sites too. Thanks, Diane—see you Friday! 😊

wonderful peaceful beautiful and everything we needed this weekend. lovely walks, the dogs loved the ponds and Greta local pub. Elaine is so lovely and welcoming. Well deffo return soon x
