What visitors say
Barry and I live in Lincoln. 30 years ago, I left Kent to move to Lincoln. 30 years on, I still miss all my friends from when I had “The Homestead”, an equestrian property where I held BSJA show jumping, unaffiliated and Hunter Trials. We came down to Kent, last week, in our Basecamp 2, to visit some of our friends. Whilst there, as usual, wished to stay. We had passed Spill Land Country Park and decided, on Saturday, to call in and have a look. We did not know it was an “Open Day”, great. There was a marquee where we met the lovely Holly whom manages the Park. We also met Brad who works alongside Holly, maintaining the site and helping with Sales. There was another lady, really sorry, forgotten her name, who was also on hand to assist. What a great afternoon we had, I think we were there 6 hours. A wonderful atmosphere, certainly not because I guzzled four glasses of Prosecco😲. The park is fantastic, beautifully maintained and lovely homes including my favourite Stately-Albion. We wandered about looking at the available homes. We thought we had found it, loved it, with great neighbours, Ian and Karen, who had moved in 2 months prior. They loved their home and the Park and absolutely everyone I asked the question “Do you like it here, no regrets?”, without exception, they all loved it - you cannot get better feedback than that. Unfortunately, whilst we were looking someone put a deposit on the home we particularly liked😡. What I liked was that there were no stupid rules. There was a lovely communal area where, if I had wanted, I could have let Molly my 🐩 and Toby 🐶, off the lead to play with their ball - I hasten to add that they are very well behaved. In addition, there was a footpath from the site to the village of Biddenden and a wood opposite the Park to walk or exercise your dogs. Tenterden, nearby, a stunning small town, with a large Tesco and many boutique style shops with several lovely pubs. Your Aldi, Morrisons a few miles towards Maidstone. Headcorn, the last place I lived, again a tourist attraction. Sooo many lovely places to visit. We looked at an empty pitch where we could design our own home. Back to the Marquee. I honestly believe Holly was paying for “Film Extras”. Some of the residents were there, guzzling the Prosecco and eating the sandwiches. What a fantastic atmosphere. We arranged to call back the following day, Sunday, the day of our return to Lincoln. We should have stayed Saturday as some of the residents were treated to yet more Prosecco and pizzas and had a great time until 9pm 😲. We returned Sunday and met Holly’s Mum and Dad who own the Park. What a lovely, genuine family. We sadly left to return home and to decide whether to sell up in Lincoln or make the move back to Kent. We know, if we purchase a home on Spill Land, we would be part of a great community, who all look after each other🤗

We have been here just over a year now and love it, everyone is friendly and the staff are great. It is so quiet, peaceful and very laid back, you also get fabulous sunsets!

Attractive countryside setting. The homes are about 250k and the service fees are nearly £400 a month. There are no facilities other than the houses. It's just off a fast road with no pavement and no buses. There is a cross-country footpath to Biddenden village, I believe. Since I wrote the above it's become less open and grassy, as they've added a lot more homes.

Ever since we moved in over a year ago we have found the Park residents and Holly very friendly and accommodating. It is very quiet and overall a lovely place to live. This is our lovely view from the veranda
