Reluctantly left this morning. The site Managers, Ali & Ant are so helpful & pleasant. Good facilities & clean. The little shop is a bonus! The site itself is very calm & relaxed. It’s on the repeat list. Gayla & Andy (Pitch 46)

Stayed here for 1 night. On arrival, it looks just like a country park, but the campsite was well sign posted. When we arrived, there was no one around or a reception/office bit for the campsite, so we just parked up but had to ask the only other motorhome on site where and what we had to do. We checked in at the reception in the café area, which was totally unorganised nothing was ready for our arrival. We got given a key and fob, key supposedly for the electric boxes which weren't locked anyway and the fob which was for use of the toilets. The toilets that weren't in the camping area and, in my opinion, unsafe to use at night as the door was wedged open all day for use of activities anyone could be in them before locking up. As well as the country park being open to walking public all night. The pitch we had been put on was an absolute disgrace the concrete was all up and down from tree roots. There was only 3 of us parked up so we moved to a flater one. The actaul campsite itself is run down and not looked after. There were weeds coming up through the concrete bases. But the views of the lake are beautiful. Once the park had closed we took a walk down to the park where there were teenagers wondering around we soon noticed people night fishing and others walking in the park which for a campsite didn't feel very secure. We decided to walk to the main entrance to check the gate was locked, which is was, and found who only we assume was the security guard sat in his car at the gate. Which was the other side of the park, leaving the campsite open for anyone to walk through. This was a little worrying. But once in bed, it felt like a being a million miles away and was very peaceful waking up over the lake. There is a main road just behind, but minimal noise can be heard. Lots of activities to do in the country park during the day, making it a good base, but just be cautious that it is a country park and anyone can enter and leave when they please

We stayed at Bryn Bach Park in Tredegar, South Wales, for one night in high season (£30 per night). The campsite is in a beautiful nature reserve with 400 acres of grassland, woodland & a lake, making it a great spot for outdoor lovers. However, the pitches & general upkeep let it down. 📍 Location & Getting There The site is just off the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road, making it a good base for exploring the South Wales Valleys & Brecon Beacons 🚗. ✅ Lovely lake views & plenty of walking trails ✅ Close to Crickhowell & other scenic Welsh towns ❌ Pitches & access road need serious maintenance 🏕️ Our Pitch & Site Facilities The campsite is small (25 hardstanding electric pitches), all arranged around views of the lake. ✅ Our pitch was level & had a great lake view 🌊 ✅ Good recycling facilities ♻️ ❌ Pitches & access roads are tired & in need of repair ❌ Only one water point for the whole site 💧 ❌ Ground around pitches was boggy 🚻 Facilities (Toilets, Bins & Washing Up) 🚿 Toilets & showers were clean, modern & spacious. 🍽️ Wash-up & laundry areas were in poor condition—surprisingly bad compared to the toilets. 🔑 Facilities block is part of the visitor centre (key fob needed at night). 🍽️ Food & Drink ☕ Dog-friendly café in the Visitor Centre (serving hot food, drinks & alcohol). 🌳 Outdoor picnic area—but when we visited, it was covered in bird droppings & feathers from a gaggle of geese! 🦆 🏞️ Activities & Things to Do Bryn Bach Park offers plenty of outdoor activities: 🏊 Open-water swimming 🏹 Archery & fishing 🎣 🛶 Paddleboard, kayak & canoe hire 🧗‍♂️ Climbing wall & cave simulator 🎠 Large playground, mini golf & sensory garden 📍 Places to Visit Nearby 🏡 Crickhowell – A charming Welsh town with independent shops, cosy pubs & a lovely market street. 🔎 Final Verdict ✅ Beautiful setting with great walks & outdoor activities ✅ Dog-friendly & accessible for those with mobility issues ❌ Pitches & site maintenance let it down ❌ Not worth £35 per night in its current condition Would we stay again? Sadly, no—unless they improve the pitches & general upkeep. 🔎 Want to see more? Search “Bryn Bach Park Cledwyn on Tour” on YouTube for our full video review! 🎥

As far as touring vans and camping is concerned this place is desperately in need of some attention, no grey waste emptying point that I could see. This is a real shame as there is plenty of potential here, it's a great place to walk the dogs, the toilets were clean as we're the showers. Staff friendly, we didn't eat here but it looked like it was ok. Handy distance for Bike Park Wales was our reason for staying. I did notice plenty of others have complained regarding conditions. I really hope someone realises that improvements are required.
