About Britannia Inn Glasgow

Britannia Inn Glasgow occupies a spot on Elmbank Gardens, right in the heart of the city, with transport links close by and Glasgow's streets and attractions within easy reach. Spread across twelve floors, the hotel offers wide city views from many of its 288 rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children.

Guests get a straightforward city-centre base with a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast served daily, kids' meals available, free WiFi throughout, a lift for easy access, and meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay. Beds are comfortable and the location is convenient, though some rooms show signs of wear and could do with more attention to upkeep.

There's no parking at the property, so it suits those arriving by train or on foot, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries all nearby, along with entertainment options within easy walking distance of the front door.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This hotel has everything: strange smells, loud people at all hours, and customer service that treats every complaint like a personal inconvenience. Need help? Come back later. Need a manager? Apparently not today. Need peace and quiet? Good luck. The moment that summed up my stay was when the lift stopped working and a receptionist came over and started kicking it. I’m not joking. That’s not an inconvenience issue — that’s a safety issue. It did not exactly fill me with confidence in the maintenance standards of the building. The reception area often felt more like a social club than a professional workplace, with staff loudly chatting and joking while guests were waiting for help. To be fair, a few staff members were polite and helpful, but they were the exception rather than the rule. I’ve stayed in some rough places before, but this is the first hotel that managed to make me miss them. Avoid at all costs.

Disgusting hotel. Rude staff and made to feel uneasy by new arrivals staying at the hotel that is not disclosed at the time of booking. Turned up at 3.20pm for a 3pm check in, was turned away as room was suppossedly not yet ready for another hour. Overall a very poor experience for £149 for one night. 0/10 dreadlful. Avoid.

*Building site right next door (not mentioned upon booking) Really noisy and incredibly dusty. Noise not good for someone that works into the early hours of the morning. *Bar doesn't open, restaurant only opens for breakfast, not any other time. (Not mentioned on booking) although booking form implies they are open throughout the day *Bedding disgusting. Horrible Staines. Asked for it all to be changed, all they did was turn it all inside out and out it back on. When I went and asked again was told "We probably don't have any clean ones" *Room filthy/dusty *Room was not cleaned and ready for check in. *I have made a formal complaint with photos and videos and followed it up twice! Not had even so much as an acknowledgement of my complaint. *Rwceptuon staff were great and friendly, when I went to talk to them.

Old fashioned hotel, needs sprucing up carpets and painting, rooms and bathrooms very clean, bed comfy, had problems with TV remote not working as well as the coffee machine not wanting to co-operate. Staff made aware of issues. Breakfasts cater for wide range if tastes. Location next to Charing Cross station very convenient. Have already booked my next fortnightly stay as dont really have any complaints.
