Tucked into one of Scotland's most dramatic landscapes, this independently-run hostel makes an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts drawn to the Highlands. Clean rooms and a well-equipped kitchen earn consistent praise, as does the genuinely helpful team who know the area inside out. The cosy atmosphere is perfect after a long day on the hills – though bear in mind the location is genuinely remote, which is part of the charm but means forward planning for supplies.
Step out the door and you're surrounded by some of Scotland's finest walking and climbing, with mountain summits just minutes away and Glencoe Lochan nearby for paddleboarding and kayaking. The site welcomes dogs year-round, families, and groups of all kinds. A small shop, pub, and restaurant are within short driving distance in Glencoe village, but it's the raw mountain scenery and that peaceful, away-from-it-all feeling that really defines a stay here.

Nice location in the middle of Glencoa though the final 1.8miles road leading here is single track. The shower room needs updates, with the drain not working properly. The laundry room currently only has one dryer in operation. The kitchen is very big with many stoves and washing sinks. I think there are only ten rooms. So advance reservation is necessary.

Very nice hostel. Rooms are very clean, kitchen is big and clean, etc. WiFi may be slow, but what do you expect in the middle of nowhere ;) Showers are surprisingly clean as well. I’d definitely recommend this hostel. The view is also very nice in the morning.

I was not satisfied with this hostel at all. The rooms felt small, neglected, and lacked any care or atmosphere. There was black mold on the windows, which was very concerning. The showers and toilets were also in urgent need of renovation. Even the sinks were poorly designed, with taps that were too short to wash your hands properly. I honestly cannot understand how a hostel in such a highly touristic region can be allowed to become this run-down. Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in and in am amazing location! The location was ideal and had gorgeous views with easy access to shops and hikes. The staff were exceptionally helpful and Luke gave me suggestions of hikes and things to do in the area!
