About Oxwich Bay Hotel
The Oxwich Bay Hotel has the most enviable address on the peninsula. It stands at the end of the lane through Oxwich village with its lawns running straight down to the sand, the bay curving away for two miles in front and the wooded slope of Oxwich Point rising behind. The medieval church of St Illtyd sits in the trees a short walk along the shore.
Accommodation is spread across the main hotel and several separate buildings, which gives more choice than a single block would: the Old Rectory rooms, the Secret Garden pods, Ivy Cottage and the Beach Walk Parc lodges. Many rooms have sea views, and a good number are dog friendly, which matters on a coast this walkable. The hotel runs a cafe bar and bistro from eight in the morning through to evening service, so breakfast, lunch and dinner are all covered without moving the car.
It is a busy, unstuffy sort of place — popular for weddings, well used by locals, and never quiet in August. That suits families and walkers rather than anyone after a hushed retreat. Oxwich is the gentlest of the major Gower beaches, shallow and lifeguarded in season, with a nature reserve of dunes and marsh immediately behind. The hotel is cashless.

Lovely venue in a stunning location by the beach. Friendly staff and attractive menu. Sadly, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered a traditional breakfast which came with inedible bacon which I could not cut, it was solid like it was cooked in a microwave. I did raise this with a staff member who came back with some 'fresh' bacon, straight from the microwave. Sausage was overcooked and appeared to be deep fried, cold greasy mushrooms also presumably deep fried. The egg was ok and the beans cold. Toast was good though. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend the food here.

Comfortable hotel - great location. No comfortable outdoor furniture just hard wooden seats and tables. Breakfast below standard. No cereals or fruit. Dined in restaurant on first night. Service appalling. Waited over an hour for meal which was cold when it arrived. Was okay when we finally got it. We stayed in Ivy cottage which was very comfortable.

The staff are INCREDIBLE, Steve the Manager was fabulous and super super helpful. Next time we will definitely book further in advance to secure the cottages as that's more our type of accommodation. Incredible short break, wonderful venue and staff are the BEST :0) Well done for creating the most idylic beachside experience.

Fantastic find. Right on a delightfully beautiful beach. Food was yummy and came quickly. Staff were a bit sparse for the amount of people there, they had a wedding the next day, but we were served by Sam who kept his cool. Took our dogs who were made very welcome.
