What visitors say
Ruth and Alan are wonderful hosts. We stayed for 5 nights at half term recently and had a fabulous time. The site is lovely and peaceful with the most incredible views and natural landscape. Ruth maintains the facilities to a very high standard, and works hard to keep them continuously clean. More often than not across our stay, the shower/toilets had been cleaned minutes before I used them regardless of when I used them! Alan works tirelessly in maintaining the site, and is extremely generous with his time in taking the kids for rides on his four wheel drive vehicle. The animals (rescued) are beautiful - an emu, alpacas, wallabies and chickens. Alan involved our daughter in helping to muck out, feed and meet the animals. None of this was expected, all of it was extremely special for our 9 year old daughter. We learned the alpaca kiss - I won’t explain it here but you need to stay here to learn it! Alan and Ruth are very thoughtful in what they provide - a badminton court, archery, swing ball, frisbee golf etc. Nothing commercial, nothing electronic…just wonderful activities for families. The site is a short walk to the village with a butcher, a shop and two pubs. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. This was a memorable holiday and we are indebted to our hosts for their kindness. I highly recommend Hill Farm for a peaceful, fun and restorative trip. Thank you Ruth and Alan! James & family.

Can't really rate the rooms, as it's bring your own, so 5* to fill the option. Lovely location and Alan and Ruth are absolutely perfect hosts, entertaining the kids and making sure everyone is having a good time.

Cracking campsite for a night with the kids. Lots for them to do on site, in beautiful surroundings. Toilets/showers always clean, alpacas and wild rabbits roaming the site freely. A couple of tips if you're visiting; the ridge is very exposed and windy - there were tents on the ground, so find a sheltered spot further away from the facilities; and check-out means you have to be physically off the site by 11am - you can't strike camp and let the kids continue to play on site.

Had a very enjoyable experience that I will not forget. Alan the owner was very nice and gave everyone a tour as soon as they got in allowing everyone to know where they are going and a bit about the camp site. He took us on his quad bike and it was very fun. He always waved at us and was very nice. There were plenty of activities to do such as fishing dipping your feet in the lake zip line and archery as some more smaller activities. One out first day he gave us what they call kart where we raced down the lively hill. The view was amazing and overall had such a nice experience. I will be coming again as everyone was so friendly and can’t wait to see my emu and llama friend again!!
