A budget-friendly base near Great Yarmouth's seafront, well suited to families and older travellers wanting straightforward comfort over polish.

About The Waverley Hotel

The Waverley Hotel suits travellers after an easy, no-fuss seaside break rather than a luxury stay, with a Princes Road address close to Great Yarmouth's seafront and main attractions. It works well for families and those on a budget who want a friendly welcome and don't need everything to be pristine.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, family options for those travelling with children, and a lift for easier access, plus free WiFi and drinks available in room. That said, upkeep is inconsistent, so it's worth knowing that some rooms show their age more than others. The restaurant serves cooked breakfasts and homemade puddings that are consistently well liked, though other meals have had a mixed reception. There's also a bar on site, packed lunches available for days out, and free on-site parking.

Outside the hotel, Great Yarmouth offers golf, fishing and watersports nearby, along with pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach, and plenty of walking areas for exploring the coast. Staff are consistently described as helpful, which counts for a lot on a family holiday.

Stayed there with Just Go. It’s a budget hotel, so don’t expect luxury, but is good value for money. Location is superb, very close to the beach. The room was clean and had all the amenities I needed. The hotel is well run, and all staff are friendly and helpful, creating a nice atmosphere, including the bar. The food is cooked in house, and there were some very enjoyable meals. I particularly liked the home made puddings and the well cooked breakfasts. You get called by table to collect your main meal from the ranks of servers with bain maries at the ready. Wee bit strange, but it works efficiently and your food is always hot. All in All I recommend this hotel above smarter ones I have stayed in.

We visited with a Just Go coach holiday from March 23 - 27th. The team greeted us on arrival, making us feel very welcomed. The Hotel was clean warm, and comfortable. All the hotel staff were extremely polite, friendly and attentive to the groups various dietary needs, offering alternatives as applicable. Brandon, our bartender was friendly and helpful as all the staff. We would definitely book a further stay for subsequent trips to the area.

We was booked in for 2 days left after 1 had to give 1 star to be able to write review if had it my way I'd give no stars! Don't look at the pictures of the rooms as it's all a lie! Do not stay here absolutely awful! Very disappointed and would never stay here again. The reviews say it all really!
