Vauxhall Holiday Park

Had a lovely time here- troopers are amazing as always. Even after singing all day under those hot lights, they never falter in energy and keep smiling- I came to see them throughout the day and am so impressed. On our first night, we went to the v-Longue for a quiz night. We were the only ones that showed up. However, quizmaster and tech-guy Ian did not cancel with quiz but instead had us go against the bar staff! I really enjoyed him engaging with us over the mic despite him being right next to us- he was very fun! (We won the quiz btw lol) I really enjoyed the circus themed golf in the sports bar, the interactive elements were very fun. However, I was incredibly disappointed to see AI artwork on the outside of the Ghost Train section. Generative ai should not replace real artists, and its awful seeing a place that relies on fun and creative people using AI to make something that could have been easily commissioned from a real artist. Other than that, the staff were all very lovely. The security guards were very nice, especially the guy with ginger hair and beard. Overall, a nice place to go on holiday.

Absolutely appalling experience and a completely ruined start to our family holiday. We arrived at our three-bedroom caravan to find it in an unacceptable state. It was immediately obvious it had not been cleaned properly. The beds were stained, covered in black hairs, and the bedding looked and felt as though it had already been used. It genuinely appeared that only one bed had been changed between guests. To make matters worse, the fridge wasn't working, putting around £100 worth of our food at risk. Security attended and confirmed there was a problem with the fridge. We were assured maintenance would attend and that fresh bedding would be brought over. Neither happened. Later that evening, after my son had gone to sleep, I noticed what appeared to be bed bugs on the bed. I immediately had to wake him, my cousin had to wake her daughter, and we were forced to pack up and leave the caravan in the middle of the night. We weren't moved into alternative accommodation until around 12:45 a.m., and even then it was a downgrade from the accommodation we had paid for. The following morning, reception told us that the fridge was working, there was no evidence of bed bugs, and the caravan had been cleaned to the required standard. This was incredibly disappointing and completely contradicted what we had experienced. I have photographs documenting the condition of the accommodation. Instead of enjoying the first day of our holiday, we spent it cleaning two caravans ourselves, including the plates, cups, worktops, bathrooms, and other surfaces, simply so we felt they were safe enough for our children to use. I work in accommodation management myself and have a good understanding of housekeeping standards, pest awareness, and health and safety responsibilities. In my professional opinion, the standards we encountered fell well below what paying guests should expect. Stained bedding, apparent pest concerns, and poor cleanliness are not minor issues—they are matters that should be taken seriously blood stains and hairs on beds is a concern. After reading previous reviews, it is concerning to see that our experience does not appear to be an isolated incident. There seems to be a recurring pattern of poor cleanliness, maintenance failures, and complaints not being dealt with appropriately. Families work hard and save for holidays. They should not arrive worrying about hygiene, sleeping arrangements, or whether their accommodation is fit to stay in. I will be escalating this matter to the appropriate authorities including environmental health and expect a full investigation into the standards being maintained at this park to say the least it’s shocking.

Site was good mostly clean throughout. We were camping and in found the facilities were lacking, the taps in the toilet block were so powerful it looked like you wet yourself everytime. The showers definitely needed updating, some with no pressure at all. Each one had mold in. But the HUB was very well done lots of food places and they even deliver to your tent/caravan. Staff were helpful throughout the whole center. Some of the bits that were confusing was how late you could get breakfast. The restaurant not opening till 0830. Visa local the shop on site doesn't open till 0800 then closes at 2000. The timings with the pool were odd, I understand they have other things on within the pool but you were very limited on timing of the pool. Especially with the weekend just passed it would've been nice if the outdoor pool was open for a large chunk of the day. We would go back to this site as we did enjoy it. My 4yo loved the tots disco and the other entertainment. She did do the 4x4 cars which she also enjoyed. My 8 yo loved the roped activity and flew round it. Both kids loved the parks and indoor soft play. All I would say is the facilities for campers needs to be updated and cleaned, a look at the opening times for pools/ restaurants. Other than that it was a lovely stay.

Love the upgraded site. Children are well catered for as are adults. The outside bar area was wonderful and ordering at the table ensured you could totally relax. Plenty of choice for eating means all tastes are catered for. A short walk put you into the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth should you want to see the sea and sand. Love this site
