Hendre Barn Mawr is a detached barn conversion on the edge of Abergynolwyn, between Tywyn and the Snowdonia peaks. The property sleeps 8 across four bedrooms—a double, two twins and a bunk room—with two bathrooms and a wet room. Everything needed for self-catering is here: a full kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge-freezer opens to a patio, there's a woodburner in the living room, oil central heating throughout, and the essentials like bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.
The enclosed garden and patio provide outdoor space, with parking for three cars on site. One pet stays free. The barn suits families wanting countryside quiet without being cut off—a pub and restaurant are 500 yards away, and you're near Talyllyn steam railway, Tal-y-llyn lake and the beaches of Cardigan Bay. Cader Idris dominates the horizon, and Snowdonia National Park is easily reached. No smoking inside.

Had a week with family here and it was some of the longest, heaviest rain I've seen. The river walks became wet and wild, but were epic to see with torrents and waterfalls aplenty. The Barn afforded us a comfy place to return to and unwind after our exertions. It's extremely well equipped, has comfy beds for up to eight and is well located for exploring Snowdonia. I had a couple of text exchanges with the owner while we were there and was given some great steers to local sites, including Snowdonia's hidden waterfall, which we had to find for ourselves. Very highly recommended place for a break.
