Porthysgaden

Photo: Barry Kenny

Porthysgaden comes ready to use. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included, along with logs for both woodburners. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave and washing machine, so you can cook properly and manage laundry without hunting for coins. Two living spaces mean different groups can spread out—one has a smart TV and woodburner, the other a 50" screen and DVD player. One bathroom serves the three bedrooms: a kingsize, a double, and two singles. On-site parking fits three cars, and if you need it, a travel cot and highchair are available.

The farmhouse sits on a working sheep and beef farm on the Lleyn Peninsula, with the beach at Towyn a short walk away and the smaller cove at Porthysgaden—popular with divers—closer still. The coastal path runs directly from the property, and country lanes nearby suit cycling and exploring on foot. Morfa Nefyn's golf course and beachfront pub are 2 miles off; Abersoch and Pwllheli are within easy reach. Snowdonia National Park is a short drive away. Shops and pubs are half a mile down the road. One well-behaved pet stays free. Smoking is not permitted.

At high tide it's stunning. A great place for a swim and sheltered from the prevailing wind

Great spot for a swim, to jump off the rocks or launch a boat. The natural rock formation calms the water making it a good spot for flat water activities suck as swimming. Lots of rock pools to explore. Plenty of parking but it does get full pretty quick. Lots to explore and plenty of coastal walks from here.
