Y Gweithdy

Y Gweithdy is a converted workshop in the heart of Barmouth, a working seaside town on the Cardigan Bay coast. The building's character comes through in its quirky layout: you enter at street level to find a combined living and dining space with a kitchen, then a separate bedroom with a double bed, and a shower room. A staircase climbs to a roof terrace with seating—the kind of unexpected outdoor space that makes a small property feel generous. One dog stays free, and there is parking for one car.

The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly—electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge. From here, the beach is a two-minute walk. Barmouth Bridge, famous among cyclists and walkers, leads to the Mawddach Trail, which follows the old railway line inland towards Dolgellau. The Cambrian Coast railway runs through town, and a ferry connects to Fairbourne's steam train. North along the coast, Harlech Castle overlooks the dunes, and further inland lie Snowdonia's hills and attractions like Zip World and Bounce Below. The town itself has cafés, pubs and independent shops within easy reach.
