🏡 Self-Catering Cottage 🐾 Pets Welcome

Childe of Hale Cottage

Childe of Hale Cottage comes ready to use. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included, along with Wi-Fi throughout. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge, so you can prepare meals or do laundry during your stay. A woodburner in the living room is fuelled and ready to light on cooler evenings. One dog or cat can stay free of charge.

The cottage is a Grade II listed property dating to the 15th century, built from exposed stone with original beams and a thatched roof. Downstairs holds a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, a separate dining room, the kitchen, and a bedroom with a double bed (4ft 6in) served by a shower cubicle. Upstairs, a second bedroom has two single beds (3ft). The enclosed garden with patio and furniture opens onto the property, and private parking is on site. Steep spiral stairs connect the floors.

The cottage sits in a village with two pubs a short walk away and a shop 500 yards down the road. The area suits walkers and cyclists—the Trans Pennine Trail passes through—and those wanting easy access to Knowsley Safari Park, Speke Hall, Chester, Aintree racecourse and the Lancashire coastline at Formby and Ainsdale. No smoking indoors.
