About Peak View Newhaven Lodge Farm
Partial to a Peak District view? Peak View Newhaven Lodge Farm could well be the place for you – this tiny, secluded Derbyshire site is surrounded by spectacular national park scenery, with something pretty to look at whichever way you turn. Despite the middle-of-nowhere outlook, getting in and out is straightforward via a well-maintained limestone track from the A515, and Hartington's pubs and fine farm shop are just five minutes' drive away.
It's a wonderfully simple set-up: non-electric grass pitches (barbecues welcome), mains water, and little else to distract from those sweeping views. Leave the car parked up and amble across the neighbouring field to pick up the High Peak and Tissington trails – bike hire's half a mile away if you've not brought your own wheels. Nearby Lathkill and Wolfscote Dales offer gentle exploration, while Ecton Hill awaits those seeking a proper challenge.
With just a handful of pitches and no electric hook-ups, this is camping stripped back to basics – perfect for walkers and cyclists craving peace, but perhaps less suited to those wanting modern conveniences.

What visitors say
It's a fully off grid campsite. There's a buried chemical ibc for toilet waste, a tap for toilet waste, and a fresh drinking water tap about 10mtrs away. For campers and caravans, as there's no toilet or shower blocks, so tenters would have to bring some portable loo of some kind. LITERALLY OFF GRID LIVING! The views are awesome! Fields for miles. Arbour low circle about 45min walk away, and Tissington Trail literally a few minutes walk from here. Will I come again...... Hell yeah!

Lovely site, just a large field. Fresh water, waste disposal and rubbish bins as you enter the site. Lovely views, quiet and relaxing. No pressure to leave which makes for a relaxing start. There is direct access through the neighbouring field to the Tissington/High Peak Trail junction. Cafe with great snacks 1/2 mile away. Pub within 2 miles.

Lovely field with amazing views. Spacious pitches and friendly owner. The only slight downside is that the turn into the track up to the field is quite hard to spot, we popped into the farm to confirm directions

This campsite is a simple farm-run site. We stayed one night in a campervan. The views and setting is glorious. Accesible along a track from the main road, but far enough from the road for it to be peaceful. The reasonable price reflects the fact that there is no electric hook up or toilet/shower block. However you will have all you need for wild camping: drinking water, bins (general and recycling) and chemical waste disposal. There is direct access through the neighbouring field to the Tissington/High Peak Trail junction. Cafe with great snacks 1/2 mile away. Pub within 2 miles. The owner was very friendly and helpful, offering to charge our electric bikes for us when we unexpectedly ran out of power. We will definitely return, as loved the location.
