Larkfield Leisure Centre

Attended here today with my family (2 adults and two children - ages 5&11) on a pre booked slot. Had a fantastic time. There is a children's pool which is very warm and kids can jump in from the edges. A big pool which is good for bigger children or adults, with a wave machine. There is a small jacuzzi. My personal favourite was the lazy river that really takes you at a speed but isnt too deep and great fun. There is two large flumes - one water slide style and one bowl style (this one is not for non swimmers). The whole family had a fantastic time and with slots being 1.5 hours, its great value for money. There was something for everyone and all ages enjoyed it. The lockers require a £1 coin or a trolley coin. The changing rooms are quite small and we had to take up two and even that was a squeeze. The only two gripes I had were the changing rooms were small and needed a bit of maintenance. There was bits of food on the floor, a dirty nappy in a bag above us and empty panty liner packers and Crisp packets. Lastly the website says you can book a family ticket for £31 however there is no option for this - when asked at reception, I was told I had to call but the issue is its very hard to get them to answer the phone. Booking online 2 adults 2 children is more expensive by about £8. However these things did not make me take it down a star as it was a great family day out and was very happy with the experience.

Whilst I do not attend your classes I cannot cope any longer. Every week I get an update about the lack of weights or how selfish individuals are about gathering weights which they do not use leaving others not being able to fully enjoy their class. I understand the instructor does try to deal with this but without success. Your update is you are ordering more weights but this is not forthcoming. You know there is a waiting list for certain classes so you can get away with not managing these correctly but this does demonstrate poor management and poor customer service. Your service could be so much better if it was not for such complacency. Surely a well managed programme would increase your membership base, increase your retention and improve your length of stay. Value your loyal customer base it would make a significant difference! What is your action to resolve this? What is your timeline for ordering the much needed and previously promised equipment? I implore you to do the right thing. Considering how poorly you have managed a simple changing room refurbishment I hold little hope.

Have been coming here for a few years but will definitely be avoiding for a while. We were caught out a few weeks ago by arriving for a swim to be told they were fully booked and so made sure we had booked online for today. As we drove into the car park it was much easier than usual to park, I think a result of the booking system. When booking in we were asked to wait a few minutes, I asked to take the baby in to change their nappy and when pulling down the baby change was greated with the sight of it being covered in poo. When we were allowed to go and get changed the very limited changing rooms were all full. I had my costume on under my clothes but ended up changing the baby in my arms as the wait was ridiculous. The swimming experience was great as usual. Possible better as the booking system made it feel less crowded than normal. We decided to get out a bit before our time had finished in the hope we could find a changing room. No chance. A cold shivering baby and a cold shivering toddler had to be dried and dressed with my husband holding a towel up for a bit of privacy whilst I waited a good while for a changing room. There appear to be no family changing rooms with baby change amd chair facilities which makes putting on nappies, juggling and holding children while you are soaking wet and them dry a nightmare. I feel avoiding here until the works are completed may be a necessity to avoid stress levels.

Use this pool regularly. Arrived with our 2 very excited children to be told fully booked and next slot was 1hr 10 mins away. Never had to book before and no mention anywhere that I could see. Went into the cafe for a coffee to look out on a very empty pool! Absolutely pointless. To make it worse, lady on front desk had a poor, matter of fact attitude
