About Bannatyne Hotel Hastings

The Bannatyne Hotel Hastings occupies a country house set in 38 acres of formal gardens and woodland in the 1066 Country countryside between Hastings and Battle, giving it a spaciousness that the town's in-centre hotels can't match. The building sits within the wider Bannatyne health club estate, and hotel guests get access to the full leisure facilities alongside their room.

Those facilities are the main reason to choose it over a seafront hotel: a swimming pool with sauna, steam room and spa pool, a full gym with interactive equipment, and a spa offering Elemis treatments and outdoor hot tubs. Maxine's Bar & Restaurant looks out over the formal gardens, and the estate also runs to function rooms used for weddings and events for up to 300 guests.

It suits visitors treating Hastings as one stop on a wider Sussex trip, or anyone who wants a pool and spa as part of the stay rather than a walk to the beach; the Old Town and seafront are a short drive rather than a stroll away, and the hotel is dog-friendly, with free swimming for under-16s and free stays for under-3s.

I rather liked this one!! A nice setting with friendly polite staff. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom is roomy too! Mattress was too soft for me but thats my problem and possibly the room interior could use some tlc and possibly a handle fixed to the wall to help you get in/out of the bath (for older folks naybe) but otherwise breakfast was yummy and the bar ok for the size of hotel. I would stay here again tho.

Today we held a charter luncheon in the garden room and I have to say it was a pleasurable dining experience from when I visited pre-covid. This time the food was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the service was professional and friendly and the rooms beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Food was well presented, tasty and of a very good portion size. I hate to say it, but credit where credit is due, a wonderful dining experience, well done to whoever was in the kitchen and front of house, very good!!!

Its really difficult to find fault with anything to do with our stay. The room was lovely, massive bed, very quiet, great views, really great food, fab selection, very tasty and cooked well. Yes, the breakfast is a buffet, but they offer items to order as well, I had a delicious eggs royale. The spa is really good, gorgeous massage, loved the jacuzzi, steam room etc. but really the most outstanding thing was the impeccable service we received from all the staff we encountered, from check in, the spa, the restaurant, the bar, everyone so friendly, knowledgeable and happy to go the extra mile, what is do often missing nowadays! Well done Bannatyne's, I'm sure Duncan would be proud 👏 we will definitely be returning.

Good hotel and spa. We had a deluxe room, it was spacious and functional. Everything worked ok. The only gripe was the pillows. Very uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok. Very basic choice, but they offer a cooked breakfast from their little menu. We stayed for the Valentine’s Day and had a dinner which was very nice. However if you’d like a good steak go elsewhere. The Chateaubriand was overcooked. The spa facilities are ok but in a separate building so a bit inconvenient if the weather is not good.
