What visitors say
I bought a full day experience for my partner’s birthday and gifted myself a spectator ticket to tag along. The process was super easy and communication with the falconry team was brilliant. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. Gill showed us the birds and shared all the knowledge she had about them. We were lucky to see the babies White-Faced Owls Meg and Star, who are adorable. Gill was friendly and passionate, we had the best time meeting all the birds. Then Steven took some birds out for my partner to handle, starting with the tiny but fierce Diego the American Kestrel, followed by Henry the Harris Hawk, then Mr. Chips the Asian Brown Wood Owl. Chris introduced us to Willow the Red Kite and Steven came back with Lootah the Red-Tailed Buzzard, before finishing the show with the best girl, Julianne the Hooded Vulture! We were so lucky to see all these beautiful birds flying around and see all their different personalities and behaviours. We can’t thank the team enough, especially Gill, Steven and Chris for sharing their love and passion with us. The day was fun, engaging and educational. To make the day even better we did sponsor Shadow the Great Grey Owl (and his mesmerising stare) and hope to come see him soon! Thanks again for this brilliant day.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the owl experience and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The owners and staff of the falconry were so welcoming, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. There were so many beautiful birds to meet, and we loved learning about each of their individual personalities and characteristics. Being able to get so close to them was a special experience, and it was obvious how much love, care, and dedication goes into looking after every bird. Flying the owls was absolutely fantastic and something we’ll never forget. We learnt so much throughout the afternoon. We genuinely could have stayed all day! Thank you for such an unforgettable experience, we’ll definitely be recommending it to family and friends

We recently spent half a day at SJM Falconry in Yorkshire with our daughter, two grandchildren, and my husband, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We received a very warm welcome, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the birds in their care. Our grandchildren had the opportunity to handle a variety of birds of prey and owls, learning how to safely allow them to land on their gloved hands. The experience was both exciting and educational, with everything explained in a way that kept the children engaged and interested. It was a wonderful day out for all five of us. We learned so much about these magnificent birds, and the hands-on experience made it truly memorable. I'm sure our grandchildren will remember this special day for many years to come. We would highly recommend SJM Falconry to anyone looking for a unique, informative, and unforgettable family experience.

Brilliant morning out with the team and the birds. They are clearly incredibly well looked after and well cared for. We were there for 1.5 hours and had a tour of the birds and flew four birds (including two baby owls). Great day for the whole group
