Exactly as advertised. Facilities were basic but clean. Site was exceptionally quiet, despite being quite busy. No waiting for toilets or showers (Saturday morning in May). Beautiful views too! We found a space to park up, and the owner came around, took payment and explained about the car parking. He said he’s happy for campers who’ve stayed the night before to leave the van in the car parking while walking which is helpful. Also allows fire pit as long as fire isn’t on the ground, which was so lovely as most sites don’t allow fires at all. Local pub was around a 10/15 minute walk along a quiet country road and was lovely and welcoming. We will definitely use this site again when walking around/near Keswick.

Separate pitches with plenty of room, other fields available for tents. Choice of toilets from conventional to sawdust. Location fantastic for hiking Hay Bluff and surroundings. Local pub only a 5 minute walk away (not cheap, but definitely worth the price). Very inexpensive site, with loads to offer, as well as a small shop. Will definitely be returning. It would have been even better to have electric hook up available but for what the site offers I'd give it a 11 out of 10!

What a wonderful campsite! The scenery was stunning, the remoteness of the pitches made for a very relaxing and calming stay, and the owners could not do enough for us. We arrived on a Saturday, meaning we were just in time for a delicious fire-cooked dinner using fresh food straight from the farm, and when we mentioned we hadn't any food for breakfast, they kindly cooked us some warming baps in the morning with some coffee. The small farm shop sells only local ingredients and had all the essentials for a bonfire by the tent and a nice meal. Griffin the Collie was particularly friendly, as was the three-week-old calf who enjoyed chin scratches. The facilities were all well kept, and it was lovely to watch the swallows diving in and out from the barns, waking up in a field of meadow, and listening to the astonishing volume of the morning chorus. We will definitely be back!

It was great to find somewhere to stay in November. I was on a three day bike packing trip, testing gear in extreme conditions in preparation for a big trip next year. I stayed in the pod, which had a treehouse feel to it. The loo, shower and washing up area were perfectly adequate. Running with solar power and fresh spring water. My pod was warm and dry, providing a touch of bike packing luxury. The site had a great nearly wild camping experience. I had a look in the Sheppard's hut. I would love to return to have a couple of nights stay. I was made most welcome by Anita and l will be recommending Chapel House Farm to all my friends.
