What visitors say
We’ve just returned from an amazing stay at this campsite and honestly couldn’t fault it. From the very beginning, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating with my personal requests due to some health issues I have. They made sure our pitch was suitable and even placed us close to the toilets, which was perfect for me. We also had a beautiful view overlooking the river, which made the stay even more special. The site itself is small, adults-only, peaceful, and exactly what we were looking for. Everyone on site was friendly and respectful, with no loud or rowdy noise at all — just a calm, relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The shower and toilet facilities were spotless and beautifully maintained, and there was also a very clean washing-up area. We loved how easy and hassle-free everything was too — you’re simply given a gate code for access, so there’s no need to constantly check in with staff. The location was lovely, with a beautiful village and town just a short stroll away, plus a few lovely pubs along the route. We were also lucky enough to visit during the heatwave, so the weather made the whole experience even more perfect. This was actually the first trip in our new campervan, and I genuinely think we’re going to struggle to find another site that’s as small, peaceful, scenic, and perfect as this one. We will definitely be returning without a doubt. Highly recommended!

Absolute gem of a place. We stayed here in out motorhome along with friends in other motorhomes for a birthday weekend. When booking you are allocated your pitch and entry code so you know exactly where to park. There's a choice of hard or grass standing, with or without electricity. The facilities are spotless and well looked after, the only criticism being the lack of a separate toilet so sometimes you'll have to wait for the loo until people finish their shower. There's a lovely pub in the pretty village just a few minutes walk away which served lovely pork pies and scotch eggs. Otherwise a 20 minute walk into Castle Donington with a variety of shops. We had an evening in the Castle Inn for a tribute night which was great fun. We'll certainly be back here - our 3 nights were fantastic..

Was a nice adult site ,clean shower rooms ,but really need more than 2 ,and seperate toilets not in with shower, down side feel the owner should at least make a visit to check all is OK, didnt see anyone in authority once ,given pitch no and code for gate when booking ,also full payment taken at time of booking ,asked if for any reason we had to cancel ,would we be refunded , got no reply re question ??so doubt it

We have stayed here in our caravan a few times . If your looking to relax read a book and listen to nature you won’t be disappointed. A lovely setting with a small natural pond surrounded by woodland . Some good countryside walks . But also close to village pubs and restaurants. This peaceful retreat is highly recommended by us .
