Nice place. I have stayed in the village/town before but not at Shaftoes. Really nice, big, clean rooms with a bathroom to match. I am not a small chap so it was really nice to get in a shower after a very long drive and not be bumping my elbows every way zi turned. Although it is an oder building it has been decorated and maintained to a high standard and the greating was very friendly and welcoming. I have a feeling the inclusive breakfast in the morning will be fantastic so if I dont post again assume it is. This guest house is going in my book to stay again.

Super b&b! Large bedroom with extremely comfortable twin beds, shower was fantastic, every possible amenity you could want or need was available. The landlady (sorry I forgot your name!) was amazing, so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. It was a fair detour from the wall when walking but offers fantastic connections to bus routes and if we were driving would have been perfect. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

3rd stay at Shaftoes with friends. Beautiful B&B at the Heart of the small village of Haydon Bridge on the River Tyne.. Lois and David make you very welcome and care for your every need. Rooms are well appointed and have all the requirements for a wonderful stay. Breakfasts are so good with an array of delicious choices. The village is half way between Carlisle and Newcastle and both are easily reached by car or by train. Hadrians Wall and Forts are on your doorstep and are a must for history buffs. At night there are eateries close by,but our favourite was Cart Bog Inn a short car ride away. A Fish and Chip Shop is opposite the property and was excellent. All in all another memorable stay, and this b&b must rank as one of the best we have ever stayed at.
