Promenade Park

We went to promenade zoo today after hearing good things about it. What an experience! It was brilliant. Firstly all the staff were so nice an accommodating. Special shout out to Charlie who truly went above an beyond for us. My friend is in a wheelchair, I found it easy navigating around the zoo with her and even better, she got to do a meerkat experience! It was truly magical. The meerkats loved her wheelchair and explored all around it. We loved all the animals and had great fun meeting them all. You can tell that everyone who works there Ives what they do and love the animals and the animals love them too. We shall definitely be back.

We had such a wonderful day at Promenade Park and could easily have spent even longer there. There is so much to do for families, making it a great destination for children of all ages. The park itself is beautifully maintained, with plenty of open green space, lovely gardens, a boating lake, and interesting landmarks such as the Statue of Byrhtnoth. The colourful beach huts add charm and make a great backdrop for photos. Our children loved the variety of play areas. The Valley Play Area is excellent, and there is also a fantastic beach hut-themed playground with a large sand play area that doesn’t seem to appear on the map. Both kept the children entertained for ages. The zoo was one of the highlights of our visit. The animal keeper was incredibly knowledgeable and made the talks both fun and educational. We especially loved the three free-roaming chickens, Diana, Charles and Camilla 🤣, who seemed to have the run of the place and added so much character. The splash park was great fun on a warm day. We booked through the Places Leisure website and paid £7.15 for two children and one adult. We actually booked two sessions, but one would have been enough for us, as after around 25 minutes the children were ready to move on to the zoo, playgrounds and other activities. We also enjoyed visiting Lakeview Palace Café for ice cream and drinks. The staff were polite and friendly, and it was a nice place to take a break during our visit. Facilities throughout the park were excellent. The public toilets were clean and easy to find, and the large car park was conveniently located close to all the main attractions. Whether you want to visit the zoo, enjoy the splash park, play in the sand, explore the playgrounds, feed the ducks, walk around the boating lake or simply relax with a picnic, Promenade Park has something for everyone. A fantastic family attraction and one of the best parks we’ve visited. We will definitely be back. 🌳🛝🦙💦🦆🍦😊🏖️

We parked here to walk to Northy Island, a National Trust island with a tidal Causeway. Arrived early with only one other car parked up. No height barrier. By the time we got back the field was heaving ! £8 for the day. Lots of childrens activities here, skate park, scooter park, water activities, sand play area, etc etc. Brilliant family activities for what appears to be just the car park fee. The island is a beautiful half hour walk from the carpark, a winding footpath alongside the waters edge. Northy Island itself has a set route with benches, wildlife and lovely views across the water. Well worth a visit. No facilities on the island.

One of our family favourites places to visit, so much to do. My children love the parks, petting zoo and sand pit. Love taking a walk while watching the boats. Recently notice it’s had the picnic area updated which is lovely.
