Purleigh sits within reach of several worthwhile days out. Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome preserves a working airfield from the First World War. Maldon itself, a short drive away, has the Blackwater Estuary, Beeleigh Abbey and RHS Garden Hyde Hall. Two golf courses lie 2 miles off in opposite directions. The village has a shop half a mile away and a pub a mile on foot; restaurants are 4 miles further afield.

Hillcroft is a first-floor flat with one double bedroom, a bathroom with walk-in shower, and an open-plan kitchen and living space. The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave for self-catering. The living area includes a TV and DVD player. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are provided. A travel cot is available on request.

Parking for one car sits on the property, and there is cycle storage. The large enclosed garden, shared with the owners, has sitting-out furniture. No smoking inside. The property has steep spiral stairs.
