About Ivy Cottage Campsite
Tucked in the grounds of a peaceful cottage just off the A38, this simple Somerset site makes an ideal overnight stop between motorway miles and seaside adventures. Portable toilets and a washing-up area keep things basic, but the grass pitches have orchard views, there's space for jumbo tents, and dogs are welcome year-round. A village pub sits half a mile down the lane, while Burnham-on-Sea's beach, fish-and-chip shops and sunset-watching spots are just a couple of miles away.
Note there are no showers on site, so this works best as a budget-friendly base camp rather than a long-stay holiday spot. That said, the location puts Cheddar Gorge, Clarks Village and coastal walks within easy reach if you fancy stretching a stopover into a weekend. Motorcycle-friendly, rally groups welcome, and handy for anyone tackling the Duke of Edinburgh award - it's an unpretentious, wildlife-rich patch that does exactly what it says on the tin.

We originally booked for 6 nights but loved it so much we extended our stay to 12 nights! It was incredibly relaxing. Les was an absolute gem—so friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for him. We pitched up in a beautiful, small apple orchard which was lovely. The site has great BBQ areas, tables, and benches dotted around, plus 4 beautiful sheep that the children loved feeding. Location is perfect with ASDA, Home Bargains, Farmfoods, and lovely pubs serving delicious food right on the doorstep. What an absolute gem of a campsite! Ivy Cottage Campsite is a beautiful, peaceful retreat set in a lovely orchard, surrounded by nature and the gentle company of sheep grazing nearby. From the moment we arrived, Les made us feel incredibly welcome with his friendly hospitality and genuine care for his guests. The orchard setting is idyllic – spacious, quiet, and perfect for relaxing and switching off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Waking up to birdsong and views across the countryside, with sheep peacefully grazing, was a real treat. The site is well kept, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Les has created a wonderful atmosphere that feels both welcoming and personal, making it clear how much love and effort he puts into his campsite. If you’re looking for a tranquil countryside escape with fantastic host, stunning surroundings, and a real sense of peace, Ivy Cottage Campsite is hard to beat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely time staying at Les’ campsite this weekend! Great location, and the campsite itself is in a very pretty orchard. Les is very helpful and gave us some great recommendations - excited to come back in the future!
