Deo Na Mara

Achnasheen sits on Scotland's northwest coast, where mountains rise behind a landscape of lochs and sea. Deo Na Mara is a single-storey property in the quiet hamlet of Inverasdale, overlooking Loch Ewe from large windows. The whole place is yours alone, with three bedrooms (two doubles and one with single beds) and a bathroom shared between them. A living room with wood-burning stove opens onto the views; the kitchen has both an electric cooker and a Rayburn, plus a dishwasher and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are provided.

Outside, an enclosed lawn with seating area and furniture faces the water, and there is parking for two cars. One pet stays free. The slipway opposite the cottage is used for launching kayaks and small boats; the surrounding hills are crossed by walking and mountain-biking routes. Inverewe's subtropical gardens lie 10 minutes' drive away, and boat trips from Gairloch offer sightings of sea life and access to the coastline's beaches. The nearest shop, pub and restaurant are 4 miles away. Check-in is after 5pm, checkout before 9:30am. No smoking.
