Douneside Cottage is a converted telephone exchange in Daviot, just outside Inverness. The entire property is yours alone: a single open-plan space on the ground floor that combines living, dining and kitchen areas, plus a separate bedroom and shower room. Everything you need for self-catering is here—a full-sized oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer—along with a woodburner for warmth on cooler evenings. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included.
The bedroom holds a double bed (4ft 6in), and there's a sofa bed in the living area too, making two sleeping spaces if needed. The cottage deliberately has no television or wifi, which appeals to those wanting genuine time away from screens. A welcome pack is provided, and you have private parking for two cars and a sitting-out area in the grounds. The location suits walkers and anyone drawn to Highland scenery, with access to the landscape around Inverness. Check-in is after 16:00 and checkout before 10:00. Smoking is not permitted.

What guests say
We spent two nights there; the house was very comfortable and the location very pleasant. It has a spa and is tastefully decorated. It's a 10-minute drive from the center of Inverness and 5 minutes from the Culloden Battlefield site. Our host was very friendly and attentive. Ideal for spending quality time with friends or family. A truly wonderful experience.
