The Doune

The Highland landscape around Inverness draws people seeking space, water and wild terrain. The Doune sits within 36 acres of its own grounds just outside the town, offering the kind of scale that lets a group truly spread out. Six bedrooms sleeping twelve means families or friends can book the whole property to themselves, with four bedrooms having their own bathrooms and a shared shower room serving the other two.

The house itself is arranged over three floors. Ground level has a woodburner, kitchen with Aga and full appliances, and two of the bedrooms. Upstairs are two more bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a formal dining room and a second sitting room. The top floor holds the remaining two bedrooms, one with a roll-top bath. Throughout, bed linen and towels are provided, along with wifi and heating via an air source heat pump with underfloor warming. There's a hot tub for six in the grounds, sitting areas, a chiminea, and parking for twelve cars. No smoking throughout.

The River Nairn runs through the estate, offering salmon fishing. The grounds do contain an unfenced pond. This works well for larger groups after a base where they can cook, or for anyone wanting Highland air without leaving the property—though Inverness itself is nearby if you want the town.
