Families and small groups will find Ivydene Cottage works well for a Highland break. The property spans three floors with four bedrooms—two doubles and two singles—across sleeping space for six, along with two bathrooms to manage the morning routine. Ground level holds the living room, kitchen, dining area, utility room and a shower room; upstairs are the bedrooms and main bathroom. The whole cottage is yours alone, with parking for two cars on site and an enclosed courtyard where you can sit out.
The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering: electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge-freezer mean you can cook as much or as little as you choose. Heating, electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are all included. The cottage dates from the late 1700s and retains period character within its listed walls, though it was fully refitted in 2007 so you get modern comfort alongside the heritage feel.
Cromarty itself is a working fishing village on the Black Isle, with the beach a two-minute walk away and local shops and cafés within easy reach. Inverness is thirty minutes' drive if you need a larger town. The cottage doesn't permit smoking. One dog is welcome.
