🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Ptarmigan

Highland

Ptarmigan occupies a converted stone wing on the Achnacarry Estate, surrounded by the Highland landscape that defines this part of Scotland. The estate sits between River Lochy and Loch Arkaig, with mountains, lochs and native wildlife forming the backdrop. The chief of Clan Cameron resides in the adjacent castle; the property itself stands in acres of grounds with parking for two cars.

Everything is on the ground floor. The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas with traditional sash windows overlooking the estate. Three bedrooms sleep six: one with a king bed and ensuite shower, two with single beds each. A separate bathroom has a bath with shower. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There is a drying room on-site with a tumble dryer (small fee applies), and a picnic table outside.

The setting suits walkers and those seeking quiet countryside. The immediate area is remote but peaceful rather than isolated; the estate's historical significance and natural surroundings make it distinctive. Smoking is not permitted in the property.
