Rowlands

Groups and families of up to eight will find Rowlands works well as a whole-property base in Aviemore. The ground floor opens onto a kitchen, dining and living space where you can cook together and gather in the evenings; four bedrooms upstairs and on the first floor mean everyone gets their own sleeping space. Two bathrooms—one with a bath and one a shower—serve the whole cottage. An enclosed garden gives children somewhere to play safely, and there's a sitting area outside with a barbecue if you want to cook outdoors.

The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering, with an oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Wi-Fi, electricity and heating are included. One dog stays free; the cottage also provides a travel cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. There's parking for two cars on site and space to store bikes or skis. Aviemore is known for winter skiing and year-round walking in the Cairngorms; the town itself has shops, restaurants and activity centres. No smoking inside.
