Sandwoodway is a solid stone cottage built to withstand Highland winters, with character underfoot—the ground floor benefits from electric underfloor heating—and charm overhead, courtesy of the open fire in the living room. Two bedrooms upstairs, both with en-suite shower rooms, give everyone their own space. The master has a king bed; the second has two singles. Downstairs, a third bathroom serves the living areas, along with a kitchen fitted for proper cooking and a dining room with views across the valley.
The whole place is yours alone. There's parking for two cars on the grounds, a bike store, and an enclosed garden with seating areas. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered; the fire comes with initial fuel. One dog or cat can come free. The cottage sits near Blairmore Car Park, making it accessible for walkers exploring the North West Highlands, though you'll want your own transport to reach shops and restaurants in Lairg.

Loved the cottage, rural setting close to the start of Sandwood way. Ideal for a chance of seeing the northern lights, totally dark when the sun has set. There's a number of beaches in the vicinity, all are dog friendly. And on a couple, you may even get to see dolphins close in.

Would definitely recommend this old croft cottage. From arriving outside, to opening the door, it has a really welcoming feel about it. The decor is rustic and traditional, giving you the real highlands experience. Really clean and well stocked with all utensils you will ever need. Views are fantastic and dealing with Ellen (property owner) makes you feel like your going to stay at your favourite granny's.

I had a most wonderful week at this lovely cottage. Stunning views, and a very peaceful location. Plenty of room for parking and on level ground. Inside is spacious, very clean and well equipped, and above all, comfortable and homely. All mod cons. Very cosy with the underfloor heating in Winter, after a long day outdoors taking photographs. Good TV and Internet. Big family bathroom and bedrooms upstairs are en suite. I was very sad to leave ! Thank You so much Ellen !

Stayed here in April 2016 and experienced an amazing week! The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a luxurious break. With the highest quality furnishings and equipment included, inside and out, it has everything you could possibly need for that relaxing well earned stay! Scenery is stunning and has to be seen to be believed! With highland cows, sheep (not forgetting 'Max' the pony at the back door) and much more, it's a must! Thank you Allan and Ellen for a wonderful holiday!
