Taigh Glas

Taigh Glas works best for two people looking to spend time together away from it all. This architect-designed cottage sits on the west Highland coast at Big Sand, a quiet corner near Gairloch where the landscape opens towards the mountains and islands. You get the entire place to yourself, a single ground-floor space with everything on one level: bedroom, shower room, kitchen, and a living area that centres on a woodburner.

The kitchen is properly equipped—oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge—so you can cook without constraints. A king-size bed, wi-fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided, along with initial logs for the fire. There's a sitting area in the garden and parking for one car. The cottage is a short walk from the beach, which you can explore on foot or for a swim if the weather suits. Inverewe Gardens and Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve are both within a short drive, offering botanical walks or more serious hill terrain depending on what appeals to you.
