Tigh An Dun sits on the shoreline of Loch Duich, in a part of the Isle of Skye where the landscape opens onto water and sky. This traditional croft has been thoughtfully updated while keeping its character—stone walls, pitched roofs, and the kind of solidity that belongs to the Highlands. The grounds give onto the loch, with a sitting area where you can watch for otters, seals and golden eagles, or simply follow the light as it moves across the water through the day.
Inside, the three bedrooms sleep six: one with a zip-and-link king bed that can separate into singles, and two others with pairs of single beds. Two shower rooms with heated towel rails serve the upstairs. Downstairs, two living spaces offer different moods—one with a woodburner and a fixed telescope for wildlife watching, the other quieter, also heated. The dining room has its own woodburner. A fully equipped kitchen handles cooking from simple to ambitious. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, along with fuel for the fires.
A private sauna sits in the grounds, with parking for three cars and bike storage on site. The property is non-smoking. This suits families or groups wanting somewhere they can spread out, cook together, and step outside onto the Skye coast as often as they like.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage in the most amazing location. If you are lucky enough to stay here keep an eye on the water, we saw lots of seals swimming by.
