About Tyddyn Castell

Tyddyn Castell sits just outside Holyhead on Anglesey, offering a straightforward, no-frills base for exploring the island. With a strong reputation among campers, it's the sort of place that does the basics well without unnecessary fuss — ideal if you're after somewhere reliable rather than resort-style facilities. Dogs are welcome, making it a practical choice for those touring with four-legged companions.

The location puts you within easy reach of Anglesey's coastal paths, beaches, and attractions, while Holyhead itself is just a short drive for ferry connections or provisions. It's a handy overnight stop or longer base that won't win design awards but delivers what touring campers actually need: a decent pitch and a warm welcome.

This site is by far the best campsite we have been to, the staff are all extremely friendly, offering top quality service making us feel at home the minute we arrived. The pub and cafe are also lovely, and there are brilliant views all over the site. Toilets were absolutely spotless aswell and plenty of space in them. We will definitely be coming back!

Best campsite ever stayed on in 30 years. All positive. Staff amazing. Hayley and Simon are so helpful and friendly. Space between caravans and pitches excellent. The showers and toilets spotless. Showers amazing. Beach near by. Booked two nights ended up staying 5 nights. After driving around Anglesey definitely think this place to stay. Thank you. Our dog loved it too!

Pitched up with our tent for 5 days. We had incredible views out to sea from our plot. Lovely food on the takeaway menu (used twice and amazing both times). Shower blocks are spotlessly clean and regularly checked by the staff. My son used the gym and was very impressed. A 10 minute walk gets you to the beach, which is dog friendly. A special thanks to Simon who looked after us in our hour of need when the wind picked up and the tent looked like it would take off 🌬🌬 He allowed us to use some monster tent pegs.....nothing was moving with them!! All in all, a fantastic campsite and will definitely return.

What a fantastic campsite. Location stunning, short walk from many beaches and great coastal walk to nearby Moelfre, where you’ll find a pub, ice cream shop and great little cafe (Ann’s Pantry). The facilities at the site are immaculate, the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. The cafe and little shop has all you need and you can even order fresh bread. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road although I didn’t use it. Would highly recommend.
