This is prime dolphin-spotting territory - the UK's most northerly resident pod is frequently sighted from the beach here, especially near Chanonry Point. Between wildlife-watching, you've got rockpools to explore, a sandy beach for barbecues (allowed on site), and the Scottish Dolphin Centre a little way along the coast at Spey Bay.
The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with spotless restrooms and a communal kitchen area. Staff are friendly and helpful with local tips. Fortrose village is just a five-minute walk away, offering pubs, cafés, restaurants and a ruined 13th-century cathedral, while the nearby golf course stretches along the shore. Though it's a relatively small site, the combination of direct beach access, excellent wildlife potential and proximity to both scenery and village amenities makes it a first-rate Highland base.

Lovely little campsite. Even though we only had a tent, it was so nice we could reserve a pitch. The facilities looked new: they were clean and practical with homely touches - my wife loved the vase of wild flowers in the bathroom.

Great first spot on our NC500 trip. Lovely plot with sea view. Good onsite facilities. Short walk to the town with great fish and chips shop and pubs that serve food. Very peaceful. Definitely recommend. 10 minite walk to chanonry point where we watched the bottlenose dolphins come in on the high tide.

We stayed at Fortrose Bay Campsite in pitch 5, which was just perfect for us. It’s a lovely secluded pitch right as you drive onto the site and right next to all the facilities, making everything really convenient. The facilities are spotless, very well kept, and you can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining the site. The owners are absolutely lovely, very friendly, and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. This is a beautifully quiet site, and as we have six dogs with us, it suited us perfectly. There’s plenty of space and a very relaxed atmosphere. Chanonry Point is also a lovely circular walk of around 30 minutes from the site, which is the perfect way to stretch your legs after a long journey. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-run place to stay. 🏕️🐾

What a delightful place to stay. Even before we arrived we were sent an email conformation with several PDF's with useful local information. On arrival, we were given more leaflets and booklets and explained about the area. We didn't have a front pitch to begin with but we were offered one for the 2nd night if we wanted to move. A short walk to Chanonry Bay, gave us dolphins on the 2nd day what a treat. Be patient!! Just a short work further gave us Rosemarkie, a delightful village. If you put the effort in the walk to the Fairy Glen wont be disappoint. Really helpful hosts, thank you for a lovely stay
