Bank House
Isle of Anglesey
Bank House is a substantial Grade II listed property in Beaumaris, positioned right on the waterfront with views across the Menai Strait towards Snowdonia. The beach is 25 yards away. Within a few minutes' walk are the castle (a World Heritage Site), the gaol and courthouse, a pier where children can crab, boat trips to Puffin Island, and numerous cafes, restaurants and shops. The town itself is the kind of place where you can spend a day wandering and eating well without planning much.
The house spreads across three floors and sleeps nine, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first floor has a sitting room with a gas fire and views to linger over, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Bedrooms range from a kingsize with ensuite on the second floor to singles on the third, where one includes a TV and PlayStation 4. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are supplied, along with heating. There is a lawned garden with seating, bike storage and parking for one car on site. One well-behaved pet stays free.
Further afield, Plas Newydd (National Trust) and Foel Farm Park are within reach by car, and the Snowdonia mountains and their villages are just across the bridges on the mainland. The property has narrow, steep stairs in places. Smoking is not permitted.
