Tan Bryn is a single-storey cottage at Tyn-y-Gongl on Anglesey, arranged on one level with eight steps to the entrance. Inside, the living space combines sitting area, kitchen and dining in an open plan, with a woodburner for cooler evenings and Freeview TV. The bedroom holds a double bed (4ft 6in), and a shower room with cubicle completes the layout. Everything is within reach without climbing stairs or negotiating corridors.
The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, fridge and air fryer, so you can cook as much or as little as you choose. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. A welcome pack arrives with prosecco, bara brith, Welsh cakes and tea-making provisions; fresh bread and scones can be ordered for a small extra cost. The owners provide eggs from their own chickens, named on each box. Outside, a front garden with sitting area and furniture offers a quiet spot to settle, and a shed stores boots and wet weather gear. One car parks on site; an electric vehicle charging point is available (shared with another property).
Up to two small or medium dogs stay free and are welcome, provided they remain on a lead—the surrounding countryside is sheep country. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Benllech, about two miles away, has a Blue Flag beach and local shops. The cottage suits couples or small groups looking for a quiet base without the fuss of stairs or multiple floors.

We had a truly magical two-night stay in this beautifully decorated Shepherd's Hut, which was full of lovely personal touches. Sally and Charles were wonderful hosts who made us feel so welcome and looked after us throughout our stay. The hut had everything we needed, and the amazing welcome hamper was such a thoughtful surprise. We especially loved the fresh eggs laid by the chickens roaming around outside, along with the delicious Welsh goodies and a bottle of Prosecco. The pull-down bed was extremely comfortable, and we both slept really well. One of our favourite moments was sitting in the orchard watching the sun go down while the ducks swam in the pond, the geese and hens wandered around, and the donkeys, ponies, and sheep grazed peacefully in the nearby field. It was such a relaxing and idyllic setting. We absolutely loved our stay and can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Sally and Charles, for your warm hospitality—we'd love to come back!

We have just come home from a beautiful stay here. What a cottage!! There were so many little touches, from a very gorgeous hamper - with fresh eggs!! The cottage has EVERYTHING you need! For us it was home from home. Charles, couldn't do enough for us, extremely friendly and such a very perfect host. There are gorgeous animals - the donkeys love carrots!!! It genuinely was the perfect stay, Charles and Sally have created a calm, peaceful space for everyone wanting that time away!! If I could give more stars I would!! Thank you! We will be returning. We stayed in the Shepherd’s hut for 4 nights in January 2026 and couldn’t have been better looked after. We had booked a short break after losing our dog. Charles and Sally were so kind and sensitive to our loss. Waking up to geese, ducks and chickens outside our hut each morning was wonderful. Sally showed us how to groom Annie and Rose the donkeys, we even took them for a walk! Charles and Sally are fantastic hosts and their Shepherd’s hut was equipped with everything we needed. Each day we would walk along the Anglesey coastal path, the scenery is phenomenal. Thank you for a great stay, we can’t wait to come and stay again! Nicola and Phil

This is our third visit and never disappoints. Sally and Charles are amazing hosts with great hospitality. Always making us feel genuinely welcome and creating a warm and comfortable stay. The cottage oozes character with a real attention to detail. Impeccably clean throughout and finished to an incredibly high standard, uncompromising on quality with John Lewis items throughout that provides a touch of luxury. The very generous welcome hamper is one of the best we have ever received, full of delicious, yummy treats. Very thoughtful and much appreciated. There are an abundance of stunning coastal walks with many secluded beaches. All with a story to tell. A beautiful island to explore. We never want to leave. A very highly recommended retreat.
