Hen Llety

Isle of Anglesey

View on Google Maps

Llanfaethlu village sits inland on Anglesey, but the coast is barely ten minutes' walk away. Hen Llety occupies that rare middle ground—remote enough to feel genuinely peaceful, close enough to the sea that a beach trip requires no planning. Sheep graze nearby, so dogs must stay on a lead, but that's the only constraint on a place that otherwise gives you complete privacy and the run of the countryside.

The cottage is all on one level: a combined living room and kitchen opening onto an enclosed garden, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a shower room. The kitchen has a full oven, hob and dishwasher, so cooking is properly possible rather than a camping exercise. There's a woodburner for cooler evenings, Freeview TV in both the living room and bedroom, and parking for two cars on site. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are all included; one dog stays free of charge. The garden has sitting-out furniture and enough space to settle in with a book and watch the light change over the fields.

For a couple wanting to base themselves somewhere quiet on the island—whether to walk the coastal paths, explore Anglesey's beaches and heritage sites, or simply disappear for a few days—this works well. Even without a car, you're close enough to Bea's Retreat and other local spots to make it on foot.
